All over this year, Imam Sadr Foundation (ISF) is celebrating 50 years of work for the sake of Mankind, beginning from the first seed Imam Sadr planted in 1962. In fact, Imam Mussa as-Sadr founded many social institutions, vocational schools, health clinics and illiteracy obliteration centres. His activity gains an important national dimension as he warned of the dangers of Israeli aggressions against South Lebanon. However, the Imam took care that his struggle should not acquire a restricted sectarian outlook; he established in 1971 a committee that included all the Southern Lebanese spiritual leaders (both Muslim and Christian) to follow-up the political and social activities (Al-Mashrek News). Following his path, his sister Sayyeda Rabab Al-Sadr Charafeddine behold this heritage, to institutionalize all these projects into a complementary mosaic of programs (cultural, educational, vocational, developmental and Health) targeting the deprived and empowering women in our communities (mainly aspiring to Sayyida Fatima azzahra'a a.s. sacred Islamic principles). From this common background with Lady Fatemah Trust Association LFT, our partnership grew up to serve a common cause: people deserted from their basic human needs allowing them to live a decent life where social justice prevails.

For nearly half a century, Imam Sadr Foundation (ISF) has worked to improve the lives of tens of thousands of men and women throughout Lebanon whether in providing easily accessible health services for families, empowering women and orphans through occupational training programs and educational facilities, or creating strategic partnerships with political and social development organizations. ISF remains dedicated to its original aspirations, as Imam Sayyed Mussa Sadr once said, “Lebanon is our country. It is a country which considers Man to be the first and last asset, and that he should be adequately maintained.” Thus, ISF seeks to bring about social justice, change and equity by working closely with the local communities in Lebanon on health, education and promoting a culture of dialogue and reconciliation. We envisage a to free our people from ignorance, poverty, disease and conflict where each citizen actively participates in the development of our country and enjoys equal rights regardless of his/her faith, gender or any other difference.
