20 April 2025 – this year World Orphans Day coincides with the birth anniversary of our founder, Amirali Gulamali Karim.
The impact of his founding principles at The Lady Fatemah Trust continues to transform the lives of children in Kabul like Basit, growing up without a father.
Imagine the relief of his mother knowing that her son can continue his education.
“It comforts me,” Basit’s mother says, grateful for how far they’ve come. With the LFT Education Program’s support, seven-year-old Basit has received essential school supplies, including books and a school-bag.
Basit has faced more adversity than most children. After his father suffered a debilitating stroke, the family’s stability crumbled, and his mother took on the challenge of providing for them by working as a cleaner.
Sending Basit to school seemed a distant dream—until patrons of the LFT like you turned it into reality.
Now in the first grade, Basit is flourishing with the resources his family could never afford.
In class, his bright curiosity shines. “I am just like the other students,” he proudly declares. His mother hopes for her husband’s recovery but finds solace in Basit’s education. “Even amidst uncertainty, knowing he can go to school brings me peace.”
Basit represents countless children in Kabul who yearn for quality education. With your vital support, we can help them rise above poverty, shaping not only their futures but the futures of their communities.
Your contribution is life-saving. Thank you for your unwavering support!
