Building Financial Capability for Young People in High-Need UK Schools
Through our partnership with LifeSmart, we are helping young people across the UK develop practical financial skills they can carry into adulthood.
Across four interactive lessons, students learn about budgeting, spending, debt, credit, tax, pensions and investment through real-life scenarios and team-based activities.
The programme is designed for teachers to deliver directly in the classroom, making it easier for schools to embed financial education into ongoing learning. Sessions last around 30–40 minutes, with teachers receiving a whole-class learning report to track understanding and identify areas for further support.
Early results are encouraging. In one Money Mindset session, overall scores increased from 42% to 79%, while 27 out of 29 pupils improved their understanding across the financial concepts assessed.
More than 12 schools have already confirmed participation, with around 2,550 students expected to take part and further schools expressing interest.

Bridging the Digital Divide
For many young people, financial decisions begin long before they feel prepared for them. Understanding how to budget, borrow responsibly or recognise financial risks can shape the choices they make as they move into adulthood.
Through LifeSmart, students are given the opportunity to build that understanding in a practical and engaging way — helping them approach money with greater confidence, awareness and independence.
For LFT, this is another way of caring for our neighbours: not only responding to immediate need, but helping equip people with the knowledge to build greater security for the future.
