Food Relief in Lebanon: 2,000 Families Served

When we invited you this Arbaeen to help build a global mawkeb, one that extends beyond the roads to Karbala to serve families facing hunger and hardship, you answered with extraordinary generosity.

Alhamdulillah, 2,000 families across south Lebanon now have a full month of food security. Each pack sustains five people for 30 days – that’s 300,000 meals and a month of breathing space for households stretched to breaking point.

Reaching the places others can’t

Your mawkeb reached Majdalzoun, Mansouri, Heniyyeh, Kolayleh and areas inside Sour (Tyre), remote border communities where aid rarely arrives and movement can be restricted. To ensure food reached those most in need, our teams coordinated access with the Lebanese Army and UNIFIL. Many of these same areas show visible damage to schools and public buildings from recent attacks, making your support even more urgent and meaningful.

What a 30-day family food pack includes

Every pack is designed to be practical, familiar and nutritious, with items sourced locally where possible to support community markets. Contents vary slightly by availability, but typically include:
Staples: rice, flour, pasta, bulgur/wheat
Proteins: lentils, beans, chickpeas
Essentials: cooking oil, sugar, tea, salt, tomato paste, spices

Your gift had double the impact

Through our Muharram/Safar Food Relief Campaign, every donation was matched pound-for-pound by the Lady Fatemah Trust—one gift became food security for two families. That match unlocked scale quickly so we could reach deeper into hard-to-access areas.

Part of a global mawkeb, far beyond one road

This milestone in Lebanon is one station on a longer path you helped pave this Arbaeen, a living mawkeb that carries the spirit of Karbala wherever compassion is needed.
Through our international campaign over Muharram and Safar, supporters like you helped us serve tens of thousands of people facing hunger across Afghanistan, Gaza, Lebanon, Pakistan, Tanzania and Yemen; a single movement of service spanning cities, borders and languages.

Every parcel shared is hospitality in the path of Imam Husayn (AS).
Every act of giving is another step toward Karbala.

What’s next

  • Re-stock and deploy to additional south Lebanon villages identified by partners
  • Maintain emergency reserves to move when access windows open
  • Sustain monthly support where families need more than a single cycle to stabilise

Keep the mawkeb moving.
In the spirit of Imam Husayn (AS) and the 72 martyrs of Karbala, we honour sacrifice by serving humanity with mercy, dignity and hope. Your generosity turned a vision into action—from the roads to Karbala to the kitchens of families who will eat tonight.

Stories of Survival

Behind each figure is a family. One mother told our team, holding two plastic jugs:
“This is all I can carry. It must last us the day, for cooking, cleaning, and drinking. Some nights, the children still cry because they are thirsty.”

For her, and for thousands like her, every drop delivered is more than water, it is survival, dignity, and relief.
