This second day of Jumuah in Ramadhan and with the Nights of Qadr fast approaching please join us at the LFT saving the lives of mothers and babies all year round – Ramadhan 1446 AH food distribution.
The LFT has for the past three years worked all year round in clinics and hospitals around Zanzibar to save the lives of the 55,000 pregnant mothers that give both birth each year in over 140 centres across the islands.

Many pregnant women and new mothers face economic hardships, limiting access to nutritious food, which is especially critical during pregnancy and postpartum recovery.
Maternal and child health are deeply affected by food insecurity, particularly among economically disadvantaged groups. Access to sufficient, nutritious food can help these mothers recover better, care for their newborns, and provide adequate nutrition for breastfeeding.
This year, in keeping our tradition to enhance the work carried on all year, 20 maternal health centres across Unguja and Pemba islands serving 835 mothers and young children with a monthly food basket to benefit over 150,000 meals.
We are also working to ensure no village clinic remains without clean water supply so hygiene at the health facilities remains at the highest level whilst medical care is improved. Up to 5,000 villagers also benefit from a clean water supply. So far over 30 wells have been enabled for these communities and we will iA deliver 15 more this year.
So whether it’s nutritious food clean water or improved access to healthcare, please use the blessings of this month to support the work that happens in Ramadhan and all year round.
