Resurgent Taliban conflict after the recent departure of US troops causes mass exodus from 31 regions in Afghanistan, a country still reeling from forty years of war, frequent natural disasters and chronic poverty. Food insecurity is expected to impact nearly half of all children under 5 – meaning 2021 will see 4 million facing acute malnutrition. It is imperative we act now to save lives and support mothers and their children fleeing the conflict.
