In Gaza today, families are living each day with an unthinkable burden, thirst. The most basic necessity, clean water, has become a lifeline they struggle to find. Mothers queue with empty containers, fathers walk for miles under the burning sun, and children go to sleep without a sip of clean water.

Life Under Siege
In today’s conflict, Gaza is facing one of its worst humanitarian crises. The siege has crippled infrastructure, restricted the entry of humanitarian aid, fuel, medicine and essential supplies. Clean water, already scarce before the latest escalation, has become even harder to access. Over 90% of the water from Gaza’s aquifer has been destroyed and is unfit for drinking.
The destruction of pipelines and the collapse of electricity supplies mean that most families cannot rely on tap water. Instead, they are forced to queue for hours or pay prices they cannot afford for trucked water from private vendors. Aid deliveries are restricted and unpredictable, leaving displaced families in overcrowded camps to survive on rations far below their daily needs.
Only 87 of the 207 water plants in Gaza are still operational, meaning the territory is functioning at just 40% capacity. Children are often the most affected by dehydration and waterborne illnesses.
Against this backdrop, the Lady Fatemah Trust launched its Water Trucking initiative, navigating restrictions and working with local partners to ensure purified, safe drinking water reached families who would otherwise go without.
Meeting Urgent Needs
In July, the Lady Fatemah Trust launched an emergency Water Trucking initiative to bring safe, purified water directly into displacement camps.
On average, 20,000 people are receiving clean water every day through this project.
Stories of Survival
Behind each figure is a family. One mother told our team, holding two plastic jugs:
“This is all I can carry. It must last us the day, for cooking, cleaning, and drinking. Some nights, the children still cry because they are thirsty.”
For her, and for thousands like her, every drop delivered is more than water, it is survival, dignity, and relief.
Honouring Sacrifice Through Service
This project is more than emergency relief. It is a response rooted in faith and compassion. Just as Husayn (AS) endured thirst in Karbala, families in Gaza endure it today. By serving water, we honour his legacy and bring hope to those in desperate need.
Your Role
Every donation extends this lifeline. With your support, we can reach more families, expand deliveries and ensure children do not go to bed thirsty.
Honour sacrifice through mercy. Help deliver clean water to Gaza.
