Lebanon Emergency Appeal: When Home is No Longer Safe

As this sacred month draws to a close, many of us are surrounded by family, sharing meals and preparing for Eid. These are moments filled with comfort, stability, and a deep sense of home.

But for families across Lebanon, that sense of safety has been shattered.

Forced to Leave Everything Behind

In recent weeks, entire communities in southern Lebanon have been emptied almost overnight. Families have been forced to flee under evacuation orders and ongoing airstrikes, often with only minutes to gather what they can carry. Some left in the darkness of night, others after witnessing destruction inch closer to their homes.

Today, nearly one million people have been displaced, with over 600,000 seeking refuge in Beirut alone. Many are now living in overcrowded shelters, schools, or temporary spaces, struggling to access even the most basic necessities like food, clean water, and hygiene.

For many, this is not the first time. One mother, now sheltering in a school, described the moment her life changed:

It’s a nightmare… to be safe at home and then suddenly have to flee.”

Another woman who escaped her town overnight said:

I never thought this would happen again.”

These stories reflect a painful reality, families repeatedly uprooted, caught in what many describe as a cycle of ‘war after war’.

A Crisis Escalating Day by Day

This is not a small-scale emergency. The scale and speed of displacement have left communities overwhelmed and resources stretched beyond capacity.

Children are among the most vulnerable. With limited access to safety, nutrition, and stability, their lives have been turned upside down. One young boy, recalling the attacks, said simply:

It felt like the whole world was on fire.”

(Al-Monitor, 2026)

Behind these words are families trying to hold onto dignity in the face of fear, parents who do not know how they will feed their children, and communities struggling to cope with yet another crisis.

“We Are Abandoned”

In overcrowded shelters, the strain is immense. Families are sharing small spaces, rationing what little they have, and trying to maintain some sense of normality.

One displaced woman expressed the emotional toll:

We are abandoned… the same story keeps repeating.”

Another man, forced from his home once again, said:

All we want is to go back to our homes and live in peace.”

(Al-Monitor, 2026)

But for now, home remains out of reach.

In these final moments of Ramadhan, when every act of charity carries multiplied reward, we are reminded that the suffering of one part of the ummah is felt by us all.

Where You Come In

Right now, something as simple as a meal has become lifesaving.

Through our emergency kitchen in partnership with Maukib Imam Hassan, we are providing over 5000 freshly cooked hot meals per day for displaced families. For many, this is their only meal of the day.

During Ramadhan, your generosity also enabled the delivery of 2,000 family food packs, equivalent to around 300,000 meals, alongside over 10,000 freshly prepared meals for displaced families in Beirut.

This is what your support does. It turns fear into relief, even if just for a moment.

As you prepare for Eid, sitting with your loved ones and placing food on the table, remember those who do not know where their next meal will come from.

This is your moment to share that blessing.

Keep the Support Going!

The end of Ramadhan does not mean the end of their hardship. As displacement continues to rise, so too does the urgency of this response.

Your support today can provide essential meals, sustain emergency kitchens, and offer dignity and relief to those facing unimaginable hardship. For many families, this support is everything.

Donate today and help us keep displaced families fed and share your meal with a family in need.

May Allah SWT be pleased with you!
