As the violence in Gaza escalates once more, it comes at a time when the besieged strip was already battling a virulent strain of the covid virus without access to anywhere near sufficient vaccines or adequate healthcare facilities.
Just imagine being under siege, low access to safe water, multiple generations of families living in cramped high rise accommodation, regular low flying drone surveillance and aerial bombardment.
Now imagine trying to explain the situation to a blind, deaf or a child living with disability.
Throughout the pandemic and 14 years before that through multiple previous outbreaks of indiscriminate aerial bombings we have stood with our friends with disability in Gaza.
Now more than ever we need to show them we stand with them. Through emergency food parcels, financial empowerment and education, let us continue to support them.
On the final odd night in Ramadhan let’s make a stand with Gaza and show the innocent children living with different abilities that that we do care.
