Over this year your generosity has enabled the LFT to serve 4,680,000 litres of water to 705,600 individuals!
These range from widowed mothers to schoolchildren who would miss classes to help their parents fetch tryst most basic right of fresh water.
Here are two testimonials of hundreds of beneficiaries interviewed on the education, health care and income generating advantages of this work.
Please do help us continue to provide 90,000 litres each day to communities that would otherwise go without clean water and immensely suffer the consequences.
Najibullah (pictured) said:
“My mother was not able alone to fetch water because on one side she was responsible for chores and on the other side there were many security concerns for women outside the house due to the depressed and restricted circumstances that we are having in the city. Every day, we have six classes and during the water scarcity, I have missed three of my classes every day because I was always late for school. Alhamdulillah, with your support, I have been able to cover my academic shortage and attend my classes regularly.”
Maryam, a single mother of four children said:
“When the wells in our neighbourhood dried up, I felt completely helpless and dizzy trying to fetch water from distant sources knocking on every door to obtain water.
I had to go to the farm every day, and my children couldn’t fetch the water on their own while managing their studies and chores.
My absenteeism at the farm led to reduced wages, and for a time, I struggled to provide enough food for my family.
However, when the LFT implemented the water project, everything changed.
I was able to re-establish my routine, consistently attending work while my children could go to school without worrying about thirst or lack of water.
We now have access to water in the morning and evening without the need to wait in long lines or miss work. For hundreds of families like mine, this project means more than just water; it represents safety, peace, the ability to work, and financial stability.
Since the implementation of this initiative, I feel empowered.”
